I've had Kizuku as a teacher for around 9 months now, and can attest that Kizuku is an excellent teacher. He plans out lessons beforehand, and usually goes through the topics of Genki, but will happily jump to a certain topic if you ask him. The best thing about him is the amount of detail he goes into explaining the concepts. He lists each of the main times when you would use a certain grammer, and explains when you can/can't use it. He also prepares loads of worksheets to go through, and for learning a language, this kind of practice is very useful. You can go at your own pace - he corrects you, suggests alternatives for anything that sounds wrong, and notes down everything you get wrong so you can study later. Occasionally if there's something he doesn't know the rule for, he does research into it for you in advance of the session. Expect to need to study new words and prepare some Japanese writing using what you learned in the last session between sessions!

I have been studying Japanese with Kizuku-sensei for a few months, and those were ones of the best learning experiences I've ever had.
Kizuku-sensei is friendly, patient. He always helps me fix my mistake, explains why, and provides better alternative natural sentence if applicable. Sensei has many materials supplementing his teaching. So thanks to them, not only I can understand the meaning of a grammar but also understand different aspects of that grammar not covered in the textbook, and in addition, many many practices in order to master it.
Thanks to Kizuku-sensei, I've learnt far more than I expected. Sometimes, I was even surprised about how difficult a grammar could become, with all those edge cases that need to be considered. Personally, I don't think I can progress this far in Japanese language on my own.
Overall, if you are looking for a good Japanese teacher, I think Kizuku-sensei might be the right one for you.

先生、いつもありがとうございます。 I have been taking lessons with Kizuku先生 for about a year now and am overjoyed with the progress I have made. Not only has my Japanese come on leaps and bounds, but also my understanding of the nuances of the language has been deepened greatly, something that I think is very important and is difficult to pick up without a good tutor. He is an all round fantastic tutor, very approachable and flexible and I look forward to many more lessons in the future.
