My name is William, and I am an experienced educator with a background in high school and college teaching, as well as experience working with younger learners. I now focus on helping students succeed on italki through targeted interview preparation and practical English for academic and professional settings.
With interests in business, technology, writing, and global travel—and experience visiting over 70 countries—I bring a broad, real-world perspective to every lesson. I enjoy building meaningful connections and helping students communicate with confidence and clarity.Me as a Teacher
An effective teacher must be flexible, culturally sensitive, and committed to continuous learning. I have found that patience and humor are powerful tools for building trust and keeping students engaged.
My teaching philosophy centers on partnership. When students take an active role and personalize their learning, progress accelerates and outcomes improve. I design lessons that extend beyond the classroom by emphasizing purposeful homework, essay writing, and real-world exposure to the language. Watching films in the target language is strongly encouraged, as it develops listening skills and teaches idioms and common expressions.

I am an inclusive, student-centered teacher who adapts my approach to what works best for each individual learner. By building lessons around students’ preferences and learning styles, I help maximize engagement, confidence, and measurable progress. Real-world applications are a core part of my methodology, particularly for students preparing to travel to countries where the target language is spoken.

Mr. William came well prepared to the lesson and guided me through the process of making a good presentation in an interview. He is a caring person and puts a lot of thought and effort into making things easier to learn and understand for his students.
