About Me

My name is Ilona. I was born and raised in Poland.
However, I have a dual citizenship (Polish and British) as I moved to London at the age of nineteen and lived there for fifteen years. I currently reside in Italy.
I studied (BA) Modern Languages specialising in Russian and Spanish as well as (MA) Tourism Management at Westminster University in London and I have a real passion for foreign languages and travels.
I have been privileged to travel extensively, work or live in 40 countries.
In my free time, I enjoy reading books, watching documentaries about current affairs and I also love going to gigs or the theatre.
I have a keen interest in sport: cycling, tennis, horse-riding, diving & more.Me as a Teacher
Teaching gives me immense satisfaction and pleasure.
As a Polish or English Tutor, my lessons involve speaking, grammar
and listening practice with a main focus on building conversational confidence.
Nevertheless, I will be very happy to assist you in essay writing as well as oral presentations.
I have over a year of experience tutoring school children and adults here in Italy and I am currently teaching online.
During my travels, I had an opportunity to learn about the history and cultures of many countries and I can now incorporate this knowledge in order to make our conversations more interesting and fun :)
I have a 120-Hour TESOL/TEFL Certificate accredited by the World TESOL AcademyMy lessons & teaching style
I teach general Polish or English and I will be mainly offering casual focused conversations that will strengthen your speaking practice & expand your vocabulary.
However, we can also practise other aspects of the language.
The exact curriculum depends on the needs of my students, their goals & their preffered learning method.
I am a very patient, supportive & precise tutor & I really care about my students.
During our classes we can discuss anything from current affairs to history, culture, healthy lifestyle, sports, travels, music & more - I will take you through various topics according to your interests.
