My name is Daniela Henao, I live in Bello, very close to Medellin and I am 26 years old, I studied to be a Spanish and Literature teacher because teaching and reading are two things I love and want to do all my life; I also love to travel, meet people and learn new things every day, I like to exercise because it helps me have energy to do the things I do every day and to be healthy.
Me as a Teacher
As a teacher I'm patient because I know that we all learn differently, I try to see how each person learns and what is most useful for each one, I like to be creative in my classes to find the fun in them, I like conversational classes because I know that communication is essential, but I also like to explain grammar, I like to see that the students see their progress and at the same time they are happy.
My lessons & teaching style
My Teaching Style is mainly conversational - communicative, grammar is used in case an explanation is required to structure. When more grammar is required it is used if it is very necessary for the student to get closer to the language. My lessons are active all the time, the student is an active subject in order to improve and develop the skills in the language.
I've been taking lessons with Daniela for more than a year, and I can't overstate how much I enjoy it! Daniela is a very patient person; she explains everything quite clearly. I would also like to mention that we have a lot of really great, profound, and thought-provoking discussions, which I enjoy because they are very interesting. Moreover, these discussions push me to learn more advanced vocabulary to be able to talk about such topics. The atmosphere in the lessons is very warm and welcoming, and I always feel that Daniela is listening to me and is involved in the conversation. I believe that my level of Spanish has increased significantly during this time, and I can communicate quite confidently now!

Daniela has helped me learn Spanish tremendously and always keeps lessons fresh. She identifies areas you are struggling with and will have classes to specifically address them. There is also a lot of conversation to get you used to speaking Spanish and she really encourages you to try, no matter how silly you may sound. I highly recommend her!!

Dani is the best Spanish teacher I've ever had. I've been having trouble with irregular verbs and Dani has been so encouraging. She always has to correct me when it comes to these verbs but she is always so positive telling me no te preocupes and she always has a smile during every lesson! Muchas gracias Dani!

Daniela was a good teacher overall, and I only did the trial lesson so it was more rushed than a normal lesson. She clearly enjoys teaching and is very accomodating, but I feel like I didn't receive enough feedback on how well I was doing or the areas I needed to improve on. The lesson did feel a little rushed and repetitive with things I already understood, but maybe it was because it was a trial lesson. I would recommend her in general, but her lessons are very structured and not generally conversational.

Daniela was very patient with me. I tend to be analytical and maybe overthink things, so I'd ask, "What about this scenario." I realize I don't need to know every nuance and should embrace the essence of the lesson and we'll get more done. But Daniela gracefully answered my questions.
