Matías Méndez

One of the major things I like in a teacher is someone who is actively learning another language as an adult. There are huge differences between someone who is natively bilingual/from school and an adult learner because it poses specific challenges to the learner. Matias is actively also learning other languages like Russian and French which means one of the many topics we chat about is how to learn a language in of itself (in Spanish of course!) I’ve had 100+ lessons with him and I think he’s great.

I'm not really the person to leave reviews. But! Matías' classes are fantastic. He's very supportive, and in my opinion, one of the most intriguing person that teaches Spanish on this platform. Very patient and never condescending (I remember when I had doubts with my wordings, he quickly understood what I meant and what other alternative I could say in a similar situation). With his classes, I feel like time flies. It's a great deal of fun. Even sometimes I feel sad if the class is going to be over. When it comes to teaching, he isn't set in his ways; always able to adapt and answer questions. When he does respond to questions, he is usually thorough and provides examples. And last but not least, he’s very professional (he’s on time, well dressed, accountable, and reliable).

Matías is a great teacher! Very friendly and patient. I chose him since I wanted to work on my Ríoplatense accent from studying in Argentina. He gives such great tips and recommendations.

I started learning Spanish with Matias at the elementary level (A1) approximately six months ago, and I am currently at the intermediate level (B1). There is still much to learn, but I believe it is an essential stage in the evolution of my language, which I have been greatly enjoying. Matías is welcoming, but also focused, steady, and patient. I appreciate his friendly teaching style, which is free of pressure or tension. For me to be able to improve my speaking abilities and overcome the language barrier, that environment is CRUCIAL. Con la ayuda de un maestro fantástico, Matías, quiero continuar mi viaje hacia ser fluente o al menos semi-fluente en español. Для тех, кто серьезно настроен выучить испанский язык и находится в поиске хорошего преподавателя, я уверена, что Матиас один из лучших преподавателей на этой платформе!

Mathias is a great teacher. I really enjoyed the class. I'm mostly doing conversational classes and he does just that, we've had some good conversations about various topics. He is good at coming up with interesting things to talk about and he will correct my mistakes without messing up the conversation. He lets you talk and observes if perhaps there is some weaknesses that he can help you work on. Overall a great experience with him. I'm looking forward to scheduling some more classes with him.
