My name is Hilson Baltodano. I am originally from Nicaragua which is a country in Central America between Honduras and Costa Rica. My first language is Spanish, but I am also fluent in English. I am currently living in Cancun, Mexico. I am an electrician by trade, but I have been teaching Spanish & English conversation for several years in Japan. I also taught seminars on Latin American culture & Spanish conversation to Spanish students in Japan at the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Nagano (JICA) and at various universities and events. I look forward to meeting you in class on the Italki platform! So let´s chat about whatever you want so that you can improve your language skills. I specialize in teaching Spanish and English listening and speaking through real-life conversation practice, role-playing, and listening and speaking activities. I believe that the most natural way to learn a language is through authentic conversation. My teaching style is flexible. I am willing to adapt my lessons to suit student´s needs. My lessons are generally focused on everyday conversation to facilitate natural speaking practice. However, if students require practice in certain areas, I am open to adapting my lessons to their needs. In most lessons, I will try to combine listening activities with speaking activities so that students can improve both skills. I will also introduce new vocabulary throughout each lesson.
