Duilius is one of the handful of scholars on the planet able to converse absolutely effortlessly in Latin on anything you may wish to talk about. However, he is also an extraordinarily talented teacher who really knows how to build fluency in a language. In our classes we alternate between reading / discussion of text and high quality, targeted grammar instruction relevant to the reading - all in Latin of course... I've taken Latin at university as well as with a couple online institutions. Unlike the modern languages, most people that have taken Latin courses cannot use the language at even a basic level (not just the students, but typically the teachers as well!), so when you find a good teacher hold on to him! It's hard to relate the elation I've experienced as my work with Duilius has lead to more and more comfortability using the Latin language. I'm very grateful for the time I've had in his classroom and looking forward to many more classes together!

I've had dozens of lessons with Duilius, any my Latin ability has increased enormously. We have steadily worked our way through Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata: Familia Romana. I got the book before I had a tutor, thinking I could learn on my own. No, not so. I have made more progress with Duilius than I ever could have by myself. There’s so much in the text that he explains and that I could never have discerned myself. He’s been worth every penny.

I have had the pleasure of studying Latin with Duilius, and I wholeheartedly endorse him as a tutor. I don't know how many lessons I've had with Duilius but it's a big number. And that's because he's a great Latin teacher: it's the closest you'll get to full Latin immersion without leaving your place. And not just Latin---Duilius is a true classicist and a wealth of classical knowledge and expertise. Schedule a lesson with him now...but don't take my spot!

Take Latin with Duilius, just do it. You'll be glad you did. Yes, it'll be intimidating at first to hear him talk ONLY Latin to you, but it is the best way to learn. Be willing to be confused, to be uncertain: I assure you Duilius will be patient with you. He will help you and you won't see any sign of impatience. As I've seen, Duilius knows speaking Latin is a huge jump for people, so he takes it slowly. Besides, learning Latin is a great way to learn the structure of language applicable to many languages.
