Hello! I’m Azusa, a certified Japanese teacher based in Tokyo.
I passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test and studied English in Canada, so I understand how challenging learning a new language can be.
I also speak Kansai dialect, so you can learn regional Japanese.
My lessons focus on real, natural Japanese used in everyday conversation. Beginners are welcome, and many students also enjoy JLPT preparation and survival Japanese for travel.

My lessons are suitable for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
If you’re just starting, don’t worry.
We can begin with simple greetings and build your confidence step by step.
I focus mainly on conversation practice to help you speak Japanese more naturally and comfortably.
If needed, I can also help with grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and writing Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.

あずさ先生との2回目のレッスンもとても面白かったです。
日本の町をカテゴリー別に分けて、南から北までいくつかの町の文化の特徴を紹介しました。楽観的と悲観的の違いについて話し合い、平和が一番大切だと同意しました。
せんきゅうひゃくきゅうじゅうよねんや2000年の発音を練習して、ミレニアムや2000円札の存在、国旗と旗の違い、フロアと階の使い分けも自然に学びました。
日本語を話すスピードも上がるように頑張りたいと話し、最後に好きなアーティストや歌手の曲を日本語で歌えたらかっこいいなと盛り上がりました。
先生はいつも元気そうで雰囲気が明るく、教科書より本当の会話で新しい単語を使うのが一番身につくと実感しています。
あずさ先生にいつもおすすめます。

Azusa sensei is a wonderful Japanese teacher. She has been such a help for my wife and I. She is very patient even when we just get stumped and helps us push through without resorting to English to explain it to us. I would highly recommend her as a teacher without any reservations.
