Graduated as foreign languages teacher and Spanish philologist / Master's degree in translation I follow a structured teaching methodology while allowing flexibility to adapt to each student’s needs and level. As a teacher, I am kind, cheerful, and have the gift of patience and positivity. My priority is to create a motivating and enjoyable learning environment, while also challenging my students. I set high standards because I believe in their potential and keep them fully engaged in class.

I have an MA degree in Applied linguistics - English and Japanese and I have been a teacher for more than 19 years teaching English, Japanese and my native languages - Bulgarian and Russian. I have also specialised in the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.

Growing up I always had to translate a lot because I spoke 3 languages. I also have been teaching some of the languages to friends, and took foreign language classes as well in order to learn how to teach. Also being part of a french-japanese association, I met a lot of language learners, and being born trilingual I can see notice some things that monolingual natives may not notice. I am now a student in a language university in Japan and also studied one year in a French university in order to learn more about languages.

I am very animated and in my classes I seldom use another language, as students use their native language as a cane which they never let go. Más de 18 años de experiencia I never thought that teaching could be the right job for me, but - here I am - eighteen years and around a thousand of students later. At some point, I realised that teaching had become a passion. My professional experience before italki was focused mainly on exam preparation both in English (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity) and German (Goethe Institut, telc) and included - apart from the usual group and individual, intensive and regular courses - level-testing and organising mock exams. For several years, I also worked as an English examiner and corrector at one of the universities in Spain. I hold a C2 Certificate in Spanish (DELE).
