Polyglot specialized in learning I've previous experiences as an informal teacher. While studying at the university I offered private lessons in both Swedish and Italian. Primarily for me, it's really important to understand the student's level so that I can plan the lesson in advance with the most proper material. I'm patient and I tend to give a lot of space to the student during my lessons.

Languages are seldom isolated; rather, they are interconnected in such as way that you, if you are able to master several languages, are much more likely to be able to explain grammatical concepts and structures in a pedagogical and digestible way.

Even though I haven't had much experience teaching language earlier I´ve been giving guitar lessons to kids as well as being a music teacher in a school here in Lisbon. These experiences taught me how to teach in a way that is fun, easy-going, relaxed and natural. Mistakes are good, that´s how we learn!

I've had different Japanese teachers on Italki, and I want to bring some of the things I like about them in to my own lessons. I think it's important to be friendly, patient and encouraging but also make sure to correct bad habits and be honest.

I like to be as responsive to the students requests as possible so depending on why they are learning the language I like to adjust the lessons. My personal belief (and also how I learn myself) is that the best way to learn is to be engaging with the language while having fun. I also encourage my students to dig deeper into the culture as this will really help them grow in the language I like recommending movies songs etc. As a person and as a teacher I am the one that tries to get through every day/task with a smile.

Language learning made fun through creative and interactive means I don't like to call myself a teacher because of the connotation in my brain. I see a teacher as someone traditionally teaching grammar structures in a classroom and having students study one long wordlist after the other, but that's just my perception! I'd call myself a tutor because I like to teach people Swedish informally and using all the creative means I can to get words and expressions to stick with them. Being a calm and patient person also makes me into an ideal tutor!
