I grew up as a nomad in Amdo (Eastern Tibet) and I have since spent more than twenty five years in monastic education with my journey taking me to Lhasa and finally to India in 2012. Fluent in both Amdo and Utsang dialects, I specialise in helping students speak Tibetan confidently. I have studied the entire Gelug curriculum from the basics in Buddhist epistemology and logic all the way to advanced Tantra and so I bridge traditional wisdom with practical language teaching. Whether you are looking for conversational fluency, literary depth, or Buddhist philosophy, I'd love to support you on your journey. I have two years of teaching experience both online and offline. Outside of italki, I take in person classes in Dharamshala, have several long term online students and teach Buddhist basics to local young Tibetans. I have been teaching Tibetan online for 5 years, and I am able to teach both the language as well as Buddhist philosphy. I have taught both for Esukhia as well as Sarah College. I mainly teach in Tibetan only but can speak English.

Great lesson with Kunchok! We practiced more reading and Kunchok reminded me of how the ལ subscripts change the pronunciation of a word. It is getting easier and Kunchok did a great job of breaking down the sentences so that I could understand the individual parts!

I read slow and don't yet know much, but she lets me take my time and waits for me to finish trying to read and corrects me as needed and does so in a helpful and kind way. Her English and Chinese are both very good, so she is well able to help people from multiple different countries. I highly recommend studying or practicing with her. : )
