When you write simple single sentences (and not a paragraph, where the ideas are connected through a context), it'd be better if you give us the translation so that it'd be easier to correct.

    Bài học 1

Tôi mua mành mành.  Fine, I would use "mành treo cửa" to make the meaning clear.

Mày là nhanh. "là" does not fit here, if you want to say "you're fast" (here in a very informal way, since you're using "mày"), it should be: "mày nhanh đấy"

Nên là len này. does not have any meaning

    Ai mua len?

    Ai may nhanh?

    Lan may nhanh.

Ai làm nhà? "làm nhà" does not make sense, if you mean to "build a house" then it is "xây nhà"- "Ai xây nhà?"

Nam làm nhà. - As above, "Nam xây nhà"

Only if you want to be polite, then use "anh" or "chị". I would use "bạn" if I think that person is around the same age as mine. Also it sounds more friendly. What we do in real life when we are not sure about the age of the person we've just met is to ask immediately "Bạn sinh năm nào?" (In which year were you born?) or "Bạn bao nhiêu tuổi?" (How old are you?), and then we adjust the pronoun accordingly. I know asking about age can be considered taboo in some culture, but it's normal in Vietnam.

Đừng làm các những điều này.

Khi dùng giày trượt patin, đừng vượt qua ai đó quá gần. Nếu làm điều này, mọi người sẽ rất sợ và mọi người sẽ ghét bạn và tất cả người dùng giày trượt đều như vậy(Doesn't sound very smooth, if you give me the English equivalent of what you want to say, I could help - do you mean the person who is overtaken will be scared, or do you mean everybody will be scared?)

Đừng uống rượu rồi đi pa tê patin. (dont drink then rollerblade)

Đừng! ĐỪNG! Đừng nhắn tin trong khi chạy pa tê trượt/ đi patin.

Đừng nắm tay với bạn gái trong khi chạy pa tê trượt/ đi patin bi vì nếu một trong hai bị ngã, cả hai sẽ cùng/đều bị ngã nhau.

I would use "thì" when I want to compare or contrast two (or more) things. Without "thì", the meaning of the sentence does not change.

Example 1: Tôi rất thích quyển sách này nhưng em gái tôi thì không.

Example 2: People say it all the time, when they talk about the weather: "Chuồn chuồn bay thấp thì mưa, bay cao thì nắng, bay vừa thì râm."

In your first example, we could just replace "thì" by a comma. The word "thì" makes the sentence "smooth" to read.

Your second example illustrates my point above. Sự thật là tôi không chết. Mọi người thì nghĩ rằng tôi đã chết. - We're contrasting the fact and what people thought.

Dịch các câu này sang tiếng Việt.

1e) The bank is a private bank, not state-owned. Ngân hàng này là một ngân hàng tư nhân, không phải của nhà nước.
1v) Nhà ngân hàng này là riêng, không phải của nhà nước.

private house: nhà riêng, private bank: ngân hàng tư nhân, private company: công ty riêng/ tư nhân  (See 3e)
2e) French National Library has a lot of books and materials about the countries of Indochina. Thư viện quốc gia Pháp có nhiều quyển sách và tài liệu về các nước Đông Dương.
2v) Thư Viện Quốc gia Pháp có nhiều cuổn sách và tài liệu về nước trong Đông Dương.

Spelling: "cuốn" , "quyển sách" is more formal, "các nước Đông Dương" is sufficient
3e) He quit his job at a government agency to establish his own company. Anh ấy nghỉ(/ thôi) việc ở một cơ quan nhà nước để thành lập công ty tư nhân/ công ty riêng.
3v) Anh ấy xin thôi việc được trong cục nhà nước để thành lập tư công ty.

" xin thôi việc" means that he asked for permission to quit his job, "được" is redundant, "cơ quan nhà nước" sounds better than "cục nhà nước" - don't use "cục" for agency, it sounds old-fashioned.

4e) Who is the Chairperson of State in Vietnam now? Ai hiện đang là Chủ Tịch nước Việt Nam?/ Chủ tịch nước Việt Nam hiện đang là ai?
4v) Ngày này Chủ tịch Việt Nam là ai?

people understand if you use "ngày nay" (meaning nowadays). Better: hiện/ hiện tại/ bây giờ
5e) Hanoi National University is composed of five member universities. Trường Đại Học Quốc Gia Hà Nội bao gồm năm đại học thành viên.
5v) Trường Đại Học Quốc Gia chiếm năm đại học.

"chiếm" has the meaning to take control of, I would use "bao gồm" or "gồm có" for to be composed of/ to consist of.

6e) Since Vietnam shifted to the market economy, state-owned companies have had to compete with private companies
6v) ??? Từ khi Việt Nam chuyển sang nền kinh tế thị trường, các công ty nhà nước phải cạnh tranh với các công ty tư nhân.
7e) The eight most industrially-developed nations have just finished a conference in Geneva.Tám quốc gia phát triển nhất vừa mới hoàn thành một cuộc hội thảo tại Geneva.
7v) tổng tám nước phát triển nhất mới xong hội thảo ở thành phố Geneva.

"quốc gia" is just a fancy word for countries/ nations ("nước" is fine though), similarly "hoàn thành" is fancier than "xong", "tổng" does not fit here, "ở thành phố Geneva" is fine
8e) The building of Hanoi National Library is one of the most beautiful buildings in the French quarter.Tòa nhà của Thư Viện Quốc Gia Hà Nội là một trong những tòa nhà đẹp nhất trong khu phố Pháp.
8v) Thư Viện Quốc Gia Hà Nội là mỗi toà nhà đẹp nhất trong miền Pháp.

    "mỗi" does not fit here

    Hope that helps :)

Bài tập làm với từ "rồi"

Đây là một bài tập của trong sách của tôi. Câu thứ nhất chính là trong sách và câu thứ hai là (câu) trả lời của tôi. Tôi nên (/phải - when you want to say you're supposed to do sth, use "phải") ng từ "rồi" ở câu cuối.

    1. Tôi thấy mệt quá. Tôi bị ốm rồi.
    2. Hôm nay ông trưởng phòng vui lắm. Công ty mới ký được hợp đồng rồi.
    3. Anh ấy bị mất xe máy. Anh không gửi xe rồi. (The meaning is ok, but I would say: Anh ấy đã không gửi xe rồi. 1) when you already refer to someone as "anh ấy" then the "ấy" should stay. 2) "đã" emphasizes that he HAD not had his scooter guarded, so he lost it.)
    4. Điểm thi của bạn tôi không cao. Bạn tôi chuẩn bị không tốt rồi.
    5. Mặt ông ấy đỏ lắm. Ông ấy vừa mới uống bia hay (uống) rượu rồi.
    6. Hôm nay anh ấy lại đến muộn. Anh ấy bị tắc đường rồi.
    7. Tôi đến thì xe buýt đã đi rồi. Tôi ra bến xe muộn rồi.
    8. Tối qua mình gọi cho cô ấy mấy lần mà không lần nào gặp cả. Cô ấy đi nhảy rồi.
    9. Tôi bị lạc ở khu phố cổ. Tôi không mang theo bản đồ rồi.
    10. Các món ăn ở đấy cay lắm, tôi không ăn được. Tôi đi nhà hàng Thái Lan rồi. (Each sentence makes sense, but they don't seem to connect well).

Cảm ơn các bạn nhiều >_<

I'm lazy to highlight stuff, but below is what I would write:

I can understand everything with ease, just that you need to pay a bit more attention to word ordering and spelling.

PS2: Tôi đã từng ở Úc gần năm năm nhưng chưa có dịp đến Adelaide. Ở Úc có nhiều nơi đẹp quá!

Definitely some typo there. It should be: Anh ấy có nói (thì) tôi mới biết chuyện ấy. Literally translated as: I only knew about that story after he had told me/ I only knew about that story right after he told me. Another example would be: Tôi mới về nhà thì trời bắt đầu mưa (It started to rain just after I got home).

Simply think of this as follows:

    1) He gave me a pen.

    2) He did give me a pen.

"có" in the second sentence just functions as an auxiliary verb.
