Learning a language for me is discovering new worlds inside people, cultures and lands!
Every person has a different way of speaking, of passing its experiences and ideas, and through languages we are able to "read" everything. Or at least we can try to do that. ;) 

In a summer which is not so hot,
In a poem that is just about fine,
I steal some lines and make them mine,
And ask myself: what is odd, what is right? 

In Brazil my favorite one is Saci Pererê.
He is a one-legged black boy who carries a pipe and wears a red cap. 
People say he lost his leg playing capoeira.
He loves playing and tricking people, specially salting the food, scaring horses and hiding people belongings.
The way he walks is "through" a whirl, and you can only control him after catching his red cap (which is called "carapuça") and locking him in a empty bottle. Without his cap and stucked in a bottle, you can promise to set him free after having a wish granted!  ;)

In my opinion, learning a language in a useful way has nothing to do with "best way ever".
People, their personalities, way of life, free time, Education...Everything is different, so the way you can learn will also be.

I had a student who hates learning a language through songs, because she thinks it won't bring about a good way of speaking, it will only confuse her and mess her head. She prefers a traditional class, with language books only, and some audio and podcasts.

For me, music is everything, so the learning thing won't stop just in language skills, but can make you understand a culture, and maybe assimilate it better.

I usually listen to a song three or four times, in a process of listening - writing - writing with red colors the words I couldn't guess and listening again with the complete lyric.

I did it with English, Spanish, German, and now I'm doing the same with French, but, besides the similarities of Portuguese and Spanish, the best language "according to my ears" (that's MY opinion, guys) for doing that is English. 

You just have to find the way it suits you better, Nada, and enjoy it =D
