Hello! Can you please help me with the Persian verb فكر ميكنم / فكر نميكنم Does this verb require subjunctive for the second verb that follows it ( باشد instead of است)? Or, does only the negative form of this verb require subjunctive, or is that just a difference between written and conversational Persian. I am trying to translate the following sentences: 1. “I don’t think that’s correct”. ( a). فكر نميكنم كه آن دست باشد or is it better to say (b) فكر نميكنم كه آن درست است 2. “ I think that’s correct”. ( a) فكر ميكنم كه آن درست است or is it better to say (b) فكر ميكنم كه آن درست باشد 3. “I think they are right”. ( فكر ميكنم كه درست/راست ميگويند. ) Thank you very much in advance for any help !

Hello! In Persian, does the word تعطيلات agree with the verb in singular or plural form. Is it 1) تعطيلات زمستاني ما در ماه دسامبر شروع ميشوند و حدود يك ماه طول ميكشند or is it 2) تعطيلات زمستاني … شروع ميشود و … طول ميكشد ( Our winter break starts in December and lasts about one month). Would that rule (whatever it is) apply to all inanimate subjects ? Thank you in advance for your help!
