First notebook entry: Introducing myself
I want to learn English. I can speak English, but i want to improve (amend only applies to improving things like government documents) my English. I am in the ninth grade at a grammar school in Germany. I want to improve my English, because one day i want to study and live in the USA.
I am from Germany and i live nearby Hamburg. I want to make friends from North America, especially from the USA. I love the series Pretty Little Liars. Maybe you are a big fan of that series too. Then you can contact me here. I watch it in English, but I don't understand everything. This is a reason too, why I want to improve my English. I want to understand everything that they are talking about. I read the book from Pretty Little Liars, but it's really hard to understand that, because there are so many words I've never had at school. But i look up the words.
I am a normal teenager from Germany. :) And i am a boy.

0 votedAugust 5, 20121- Yes, you just have to speak with others who are learning English. I am also trying to improve my Italian speaking. I did a search on google and in the US there is a website called Meetup. It is a site for people who are looking for groups they can go to in person and meet people with similar interests. There are many groups like book clubs but I found one that is an English/Italian conversation hour. For one hour you are only allowed to speak English and then for the second hour you are only allowed to speak Italian. It forces me to converse and is very helpful. - That's a shame! It really depends on the job. I am a teacher and I can retire after 30 years. My father works for UPS and he has to put in 35 years to get his full pension. For union jobs like teaching and truck driving you pay into a pension fund throughout your career so that when you retire you still get a small salary each month.0 votedAugust 4, 20120
- You are right but I can see why enrolling sounds correct. The reason why the answer is D "enrollment" is because it is a noun (thing). For me it helps to pick out the key words in each sentence. So, the format of the sentence is: (Enrollment (noun) has (helping verb) tripled (intransitive action verb). This makes it a little easier to see why "enrolling has tripled" doesn't sound quite right because it doesn't sound right to say running (gerund) tripled. I hope that wasn't too confusing.
