Hi English speakers!what do you think of the name Aurelia?is it a good one? and what kind of impression do you get from a girl named Aurelia? My Chinese name includes three gold in Chinese and I am thinking about finding a name which has something to do with gold or golden. I am not sure if Aurelia is a good choice. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it💓💓💓

I love it! "Aurelia" is not a common name, but it sounds pretty, is obviously a girl's name (not a common noun), and relates to the "gold" in your Chinese name. As GuideDog says, it could be difficult for some Chinese speakers (and Japanese, Korean, etc.) to pronounce.

It's a lovely name with a nice sound. It's rare in the United States, but it exists: Social Security reports that 449 female babies were named "Aurelia" in 2019. I didn't think of the association with gold. Actually, having studied marine biology, the association I have with it is a kind of jellyfish, the "moon jelly" _Aurelia aurita_ (try a Google search). Not many people would think of it, though.

Great name, but might be difficult for some Chinese speakers to pronounce. If you can say it, that's wonderful.

It’s a pretty name. When I hear Aurelia, I think of celestial bodies in the heavens or space and stars (possibly because it’s similar to the name for the Northern Lights). It’s not a name I hear very often but there are a lot of uncommon names used in the US.
