Yes, I do have some future plans that I find too sensitive to share with my parents. You see, I'm an only child so my immediate family is just my parents and the three of us are very close. But there's still an age gap of more than twenty years between them and me. Their long-held opinions are hard to change (1) and due to the rather closed living environment here, it's challenging for them to accept information that contrasts with what they believe without thinking my mind is twisted by biased propaganda. I might be exaggerating the situation though, but that's the reason why I keep some things (2) to myself. Still, it's always helpful to share some of your fears and worries with your family even when it comes to secrets because family acceptance and solidarity empower people to find themselves in this atomized society.
