I would like to tell something about Tatar* music. Modern Tatar music can be divided into 2 parts: pop music and "alternative" music. The first one includes songs for general public (cheerful music with traditional motifs but without meaning). The direction of alternative music was created by people who don't like pop culture and would like to see a new type of Tatar music. One of my favorite representatives of alternative music is Alqanat. They play rock and metal and were popular in the 2010s. Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 2016. *Tatars are a Turkic nation who lives mainly in Russia and Post-Soviet countries but there are a lot of Tatar diasporas around the world (in European countries, USA, Australia etc.)
