I have been learning English for my work. At the beginning I learned English by myself. I started watching movies in English with Russian subtitles and wrote down almost every single word in my online dictionary. Sometimes later I understood that my progress actually moves very slowly. I started to watch movies with English subtitles and take English lessons for speaking practice. I continue to learn and improve my skills every day and try to keep my study consistency. I have challenging with live conversation when I need to recall words quickly. However, I see my progress every day and it gives me motivation :)

I have been learning English for work. At the beginning, I was teaching myself English. I started by watching movies in English with Russian subtitles and looked up almost every single word in an online dictionary. Sometime later, I realized that I was progressing very slowly. So I started to watch movies with English subtitles and take English lessons to practice speaking. I continue to learn and improve my skills every day and try to keep my studying consistency. I have difficulties with conversation because I need to recall words quickly in the moment. However, I see my progress every day and it gives me motivation. :)

Well written, Alina! It sounds like you are very dedicated to your studies. If you would like another source for studying English, I would recommend reading an enjoyable book in English. Perhaps one you’ve already read in Russian so you are better able to figure out the meaning of words without constantly using the dictionary! Keep up the great work!
