Wurde
I have seen the sentence "es wurde kalt", transalted as "it was getting cold" and "it was cold". Can it really be translated as both? What is the infinitive of "wurde"? thanks for you help.

The infinitive is "werden" ("to become"). "It was cold" is a somewhat liberal translation, not a literal one (which is possible, depending on the context).
