Any song by The Beatles. I mean, seriously, when you listen to a song such as "Hello Goodbye", you can't go wrong as far as the very basics of English are concerned ;-)

I would say some of the softer pop songs like songs from The Carpenters, Celine Dion, Linda Ronstadt and Vanessa Williams. Maybe ELO songs and some select songs such as "Beth" from Kiss. Shania Twain, Backstreet Boys, Chicago, Billy Ocean.

I would recommend Common Shiner's - Social Mediasochist or My personal favourite bush ballad, ​Waltzing Matilda. I do have more but there are too many to recommend. I hope these songs would help with your student's learning Mr Anthony.
