What is the difference betweem odontology and dentistry?

Hi there, odontology is the scientific study of teeth and their diseases. Dentistry is the practical use of that knowledge to help people take care of their teeth.
The suffix -ology usually means study of something. Some other examples are physiology (the study of living organisms), psychology (the study of the mind) and theology (the study of religion).
