i have a question about "suggested" in this following sentence. hi there, in this sentence "we hope she would see the fairness of this and suggested herself" why is "suggested" used as a past tense, I think it should be used as a present simple (suggest). am i wrong? I appreciate your assistance.

Something is incorrect or incomplete about this excerpt. We hope she *will* see the fairness of this and suggest herself. or We hope she would see the fairness of this, suggesting herself. or We hope she would have seen the fairness of this and (would have) suggested herself. or We'd hoped she would see the fairness of this and suggest herself.
