I've been teaching since 2006 and I've had taught primary English (children), Business English (adults), Portuguese as a foreign language (adults) and all levels of Portuguese and English in Elementary and Secondary schools and language schools. My eagerness to evolve my career as pushed me to try online teaching and since 2018 I've been successfully teaching Portuguese as a foreign language to people all over the world!

My favorite topics are associated with short stories, newspaper news, text interpretation, and others that may come up with the conversation. My lessons take place in a fluent conversation that can take the form of simulated dialogues (in a restaurant, a hotel, a trip, etc.), listening and interpretation music and videos and conversations on various topics of student interest, such as, for example, a rigorous correction of Portuguese texts and according to the new orthographic agreement. Portuguese Language and Culture I began my language teaching journey in 2016 and had the privilege of teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where I earned a postgraduate degree in Teaching Portuguese as a Non-native Language.I hold TEFL and TEYL certificates, and I've honed my skills in teaching grammar and conversation to learners from age 4 to adults. I find joy in working with people from diverse backgrounds, believing in the mutual enrichment of sharing knowledge and experiences.

Qualified Portuguese/English teacher with over 30 years' experience; Portuguese examiner/moderator I've been teaching Portuguese and English to children and adults since 1992. I'm very patient. Currently, I teach Grade 6 and 7 at a primary school. I've been tutoring Portuguese at the local university since 2009. I've also been a Portuguese examiner/moderator at a South African university since 2013. Privately, I tutor students from Taiwan, China, Ireland, Italy and other countries, and of course, Eswatini (Swaziland). Recently, I taught a beginner's course in Portuguese over a 6 month period to the managing staff of a prominent company in Swaziland. I also edit documents, for instance, language manuals, theses, etc. I do translations from Portuguese to English and vice versa.

I know Portuguese is very often difficult, frustrating and even cruel. But you can learn it! Learning languages is a hobby of mine. Or just reading about languages and understanding the basic concepts of its grammar. All the languages I've tried to learn were self-taught and italki is a very helpful tool that would have made my life easier. That's why I'm here.
