I went to Kiyose City with my classmates. First, we visited the National Hansen’s Disease Museum. I learned about the history of Hansen’s disease and the discrimination that patients experienced. I felt very sad because they were treated unfairly. I think it is important to learn about their experiences so that we can prevent discrimination in the future. After that, we did fieldwork around Kiyose City. We walked around the area and learned about the local community. It was interesting to discover things that I had never noticed before. We also ate curry together. It was delicious, and I enjoyed talking with my classmates while eating. Through this experience, I learned about the history of Kiyose City and the importance of understanding other people’s experiences. I had a meaningful day, and I want to learn more about Hansen’s disease and human rights.
