Time, Days and Dates: Mani, Divasam and the Family Calendar | Spoken Malayalam #015
Description
Family life runs on time: when to eat, when the school bus comes, which day the relatives visit. English speakers tend to say clock times the English way, "five thirty", "quarter past four", and translate each word. Malayalam has its own short, neat patterns: one word for "half past five", a little ending for "at", and a handy set of words for today, tomorrow and the day after.
In this episode:
• Asking and telling the time
• "at" a time: the little ending
• Parts of the day
• Today, tomorrow and the week
• Months and dates
• Listening scene
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
