Community TutorIn Venezuela, we have a musical style and ritual called "Fulía". Fulía is sang and played to honor "The Cross of May", formerly known as the "Tree of May" (the tree of life). It is a ritual done to thank mother earth for the crops, rains and good hunting times, the ancestors, and the Christian God.
Along with the fulía chants, we also recite "décimas", a form of poetry that came from Spain: it has ten verses of eight syllables.
