Professional TeacherEnglish has a secret rule: sometimes it adds sounds that aren't even there 🙊
It's called intrusion and native speakers do it constantly without noticing.
When two vowel sounds meet at a word boundary, English quietly inserts a consonant between them to make the transition smoother.
Listen:
/w/ → "go away" · "do it" · "who else?"
/j/ → "she asked" · "I am" · "they always"
/r/ → "the idea of it" · "law and order"
Once you hear it, you'll catch it everywhere :)
