Hi italki community, is there a meaning difference between shortcoming and short coming?
The first one as one word and the second one as two words.
Thank you for the feedback

Hola Paco!
It's one word, "shortcoming."
It refers to an imperfection or something lacking. The plural form is "shortcomings."
Short coming is not correct for that usage.

Pretty much, yeah. Short coming looks like a mistake, like someone figured that because it's two different words that they should be separated. But it is its own word.

Well, the usage of first phrase that is shortcomings ‘ means to have flaws or imperfections like She exposed some of her shortcomings while yelling on her kids., The other is used as combined expression like ‘ please follow your process and I’m coming shortly afterwards’.I hope that helps thanks
