どちらも似ていますが
制限する はルールや決まり事で使われることが多いです。少し厳しいイメージです。英語ではRestrict が近いです。
限定する はよくお店で見られます。30名様限定‥など。こちらは柔らかいイメージですね。英語ではto limite でしょうか。🤔☺️
