Last weekend I ate Oden for dinner.
Oden is a one of Japanese dishes, some foods like boiled eggs, radishes, fried tofu or sea weeds in it. And there are some special foods which are eaten in specific area, Kanimen is one of them.
Kanimen is a crab meat and roe stuffed on crab shell and people in Hokuriku usually eat them. I ate it for my first time and it was stunning! I was sure Kanimen and sake were the best friend. After finishing crab meat and roe, I poured hot sake into empty shell and drank it, then I completely knocked out!
By the way, I heard crabs came to Tokyo by Shinkansen, is that true?
