Welcome to "Phrasal Verbs Gone Wild", the show where verbs and prepositions get a little too close for comfort! Iām your host, and today weāre talking about the mischievous phrasal verb: 'get up to'.
When you 'get up to something', youāre doing something⦠suspicious. Your grandma might ask, "What are you kids getting up to?" She doesnāt want to hear "Weāre planning world domination" or "Starting a marshmallow fire in the living room." Nope! She just wants you to say, "Homework."
So next time someone asks you what youāre getting up to, just wink and say, "Oh, nothing!" Theyāll know exactly what that meansātrouble.
Catch you next time, unless youāre getting up to no good!
