I bring you today one word that you won't see in textbooks but we use all the time in spoken Spanish in informal situations:
CHAPUZA
¿Qué significa?
Chapuza significa algo de mala calidad (poorly done). También se usa para arreglar cosas en la casa uno mismo (little works at home that you do to save money and not pay an specialist, so the quality is usually poor).
Ejemplos:
Tu proyecto de diseño es una chapuza.
En mi casa estamos de chapuzas, mi marido está arreglando el baño y yo pintando la cocina, es más barato!
