Which sounds more natural in a work email? "Please revert back to me at your earliest convenience." "Please get back to me when you can." A lot of professionals use the first one thinking it sounds formal. Does it? Why or why not?

It sounds odd to me as revert doesn't really mean the same thing in this context. But I might be wrong..
