You can use either one.
In the U.S. we usually use movie for major commercial motion pictures aimed at a large audience and film for ones that are more artistic in nature.

as far as i know, movie is used more often in the US and film in the UK.

Film can be used in place of movie, but movie can't always be used in place of film as film also means camera/photo film. Movie is just motion picture nothing else. Hope I've made it clear.
