Friendly, Empathetic English Community Tutor Thank you for visiting my Italki page! My name is Calum, I'm from the southwest of the UK and speak with a standard British accent. I’ve always been passionate about foreign languages, and as a fellow student on Italki, I know how exciting, but also how challenging learning a new language can be. I speak Korean at an intermediate level and have recently started learning Mandarin Chinese and Japanese on Italki too. As a native English speaker, I bring a relaxed, patient, and supportive approach to teaching. While I don't yet have formal qualifications, I focus on helping my students express themselves in a natural and authentic way through conversation. I aim to create a comfortable environment where learners can practice and improve their English skills without pressure, with an emphasis on real-life, conversational language. I believe that the best learning happens when students feel confident and comfortable. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner, I will be more than happy to support you. These days I mostly do free talking conversation classes, in the past I have done newspaper reading classes too. I can be very flexible, so please let me know how you would like to learn :)

I highly recommend him to learners of all levels. He’s especially great for beginners because he encourages students to speak and always responds warmly. His encouragement really helps build confidence and overcome the fear of speaking English. I also recommend him for advanced learners as well. When I explained something, he listened with genuine interest and curiosity. That made me feel comfortable sharing my thoughts and experiences. I’d love to ask more lessons from him
