CELTA Qualified Native English Teacher Hello! I come am a native English speaker and come from Scotland. I have a CELTA teaching qualification and have experience teaching students from many countries. I love discussing a wide variety of topics and can't wait to help you with your learning journey. I have a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree with Distinction in Fine Art. Currently, I study Civil and Environmental Engineering (BEng). I am also an intermediate German learner and have significant experience using Italki as a learner. I am passionate about making learning fun, engaging and sustainable! My lessons are a supportive environment, where students can gain confidence in their English language skills. I am friendly, approachable and a good conversationalist. I believe it is important to develop different teaching techniques for each student. As a language learner, I understand the importance of keeping lessons interesting and I am always developing new ways of learning. In our lessons, I like to give students the choice of how structured or relaxed they want the class to be. I can provide classes where we work on grammar, vocabulary, and skills like reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Alternatively, we can simply have a casual conversation while I give you corrections. I also enjoy using videos or articles as discussion topics, which helps build vocabulary and confidence.

Today, we discussed the topic of art, and Niamh attentively prepared a lot of materials, further expanding my vocabulary. I learned a lot about artworks in class. And I got chance to analyse artworks in English. It was a bit difficult for me, but also very interesting. Thank you very much, Niamh.

I had a really great experience in my first class with Niamh. She’s a friendly and professional teacher who knows how to manage the time well and make you feel comfortable from the start. She listens carefully and takes notes so she can give you useful, personalised feedback. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work and learn with her!
