Certified English Language Teacher with 13 years of teaching experience in 6 different countries! My name is Dan Thompson, I'm 40 years old and I've been teaching English for 13 years. I currently live in Ipswich, Suffolk in the UK, but I was originally born in the United States. I've lived and worked in 6 different countries and have travelled to 24 so far. I enjoy being outdoors, getting exercises, reading books, watching a good movie and of course traveling! I started teaching in 2008 and have since attained 6 English Language teaching certifications and attended hundreds of hours of trainings, workshops and teaching seminars. I have also trained other teachers and hosted CPDs and regional education workshops for English language teachers. I have taught in primary and secondary schools as well as universities and language schools for children and adults. I have over 5 years of online teaching experience and I have taught online classes of every size; from one-to-one, to small groups and even classes of over 30 students at one time! My lessons are always customized to each student I teach. I always begin with a short lesson to assess the students needs and goals and discuss how best we can achieve those goals together. I will then design a curriculum plan that will best help the student achieve their language targets. I have materials for every kinds of language learner and every English language level. I always aim to make the lessons as fun and engaging as I can while also making sure the student is effectively learning the skills they need to succeed and progress.
