Amélie

Amélie est une professeure remarquable. Son approche de l’écriture se distingue par un travail méticuleux sur la grammaire et le choix de mots, où elle illustre les nuances entre des termes similaires avec des exemples, ce qui est d’une grand aide pour progresser en français.

Ámelie is amazing! She is the perfect tutor, and our lesson went perfectly! Prior to our lesson, I’d had a bit of exposure to French (from having seen, heard, and researched it,) but I’d call myself an absolute beginner, regardless, because there’s very little I know how to say. Amélie was very receptive to working on the topics I’d requested. Also, in the beginning of our lesson, she gave me options to choose for the methods we could use to review everything. I’d selected the “grammar debunking” lesson, but we focused on French phonetics- it’s so helpful to have a general sense of the sounds and corresponding ways to write them. We focused on Québec French phonetics because I’d asked to, but she also knew a lot about how the sounds and other aspects of France French work, even though she’s from Québec! We managed to cover so much. She was very observant of what I was understanding and what I was having trouble with and knew how to explain things in ways I understood.

It's rare that I get the opportunity to speak to someone as knowledgable about linguistics as Amélie. She explained things clearly, asked thoughtful questions, and shared her unique insights and perspectives on Québecois society and psyche that I'm desperate to learn more about.
