I'm a 24-year old Dutchy with an international mindset. I love traveling, experiencing new cultures and meeting people. This has brought me to different parts (and languages!) of the world. When I'm living/staying somewhere I think it's great to (at least) be able to communicate daily basics in the local language. A language just tells so much about the culture! In how many languages can you say hello? All students differ, so I believe the teacher should be adjusting to the preferences and level of the students at all times. As a tutor I had experience with students at different levels which emphasized the importance of personalization of classes. No one learns the same way, so no one should be taught the same way! I think effective teaching includes a lot of joy. In order to succeed, you need to commit yourself to a job. This commitment will be way easier when you actually enjoy doing the job! So why not making succeeding in a language enjoyable? I think it's very important to have fun and celebrate small improvements in order to keep motivated for learning a new language. The hard and fun work will pay off in the end!
