Bachelor of Arts with honours in Spanish and Latin American studies Hello! my name is Jodi and I am from Glasgow, Scotland. I have just completed a degree in Spanish and Latin American studies at university. My degree allowed me to work in Spain for 5 months as an English language assistant which was a great experience. I really enjoy travelling and meeting people from different walks of life. I am a creative person who is very passionate about television, film, music and culture. I have worked as an English teacher in many different environments. For example, I have worked in 2 primary schools where I ran English learning activities for both smaller and larger groups of children and I also carried out their speaking exams. In addition to this, I have worked in a language school for teenagers and adults where I gave talks and carried out different activities related to Scottish and British culture. I have also have experience giving 1 on 1 English conversation classes both virtually and face to face. I like to encourage students to have a say in what and how they would like to learn because I think there are better ways to learn than just reading vocabulary lists and memorising grammar. Learning a language should be interesting. For this reason, in my classes I like to allow students to talk about what interests them and ask questions. I am also happy for the student to send me a message beforehand with ideas for topics and activities to ensure my classes continue to be useful.
