I am passionate about teaching students to communicate more clearly in English. I had two years of teaching experience before recieving my TEFL certificate. I worked with young students in a classroom and also in one to one lessons. During my TEFL certification I worked with groups of older students and some older students in one to one lessons. I am a flexible teacher who has practice with General English and Business English.

As mentioned, I believe having a native grasp in both English and Spanish is an advantage. It allows me to easily translate idiomatic concepts and expressions that don’t have literal equivalent from one language to the other. I can draw meaning from my native understanding of both languages (and my experience in using both in daily life) to find the right examples and the closest translations from the source to the target language. I studied linguistics and, even though it is generally not required for a language teacher to be trained in linguistics, there is a growing number of experts in the community who believe it's a huge plus. I've drawn countless knowledge from it to teach.
