I’m NOT certificated teacher and not fluent in English, so I might not be the best one to answer your questions sometimes, especially about nuances between similar expressions in English. Before I became a Japanese language teacher, I had been a government employee. I passed Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test administered by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services in 2019, and teach Japanese as a Japanese language teacher. I can speak not only Japanese, but also Korean(advanced level) ,English(intermediate level), and also can speak a bit of Vietnamese. I will try my best to support you!

I can assist absolute beginner to highly advanced level students (including N5-N1 preparation), who are willing to manage aspects of their own learning. Thanks to many of my students, I have been become one of the most experienced Japanese teachers at italki. I use PPT and Word documents to explain grammar points, etc. in English. My native language is Japanese, but I am trained and qualified to teach in Australia and I feel more comfortable explaining Japanese in English. This approach can be especially helpful for English-speaking students. For advanced learners, I may use little to no English.

Teaching basic Japanese was one of the support I was providing. I have helped my friends to pass JLPT. I have also supported foreign tourists as a volunteer guide in Tokyo, Osaka and Hiroshima. Therefore, I am confident that I can support beginner level students well. I love seeing their smiles when they were able to use the language that they learned with locals.
