Finnish language tutor with a passion for teaching I am currently studying to become a certified class teacher (I can teach all subjects in primary school for children aged 7-12) and Russian language teacher for all ages. However, my study program also focuses heavily on helping students with Finnish as a second language. I have taught children, teens and adults in traineeships as part of my studies. However, most of my teaching experience comes from volunteering regularly in Finnish language groups for immigrants since 2020. No pain AND gain! Learn grammar naturally through conversation practice with an experienced teacher! I never learned a language in school, I learned on my feet. As a teacher I emphasise practicality and straightforwardness. As soon as you know three words, I’ll ask you to put them into a sentence. With me you won’t be ‘taught’ per se, you will be invited to learn by doing, to try things out, and to accumulate competence upon what you already know. My students quickly learn to ask me ‘can I say…? (voinks mä sanoa…?)’ followed by something they have just formulated. Before long, they start to create perfectly applicable and natural sounding Finnish sentences (which can often be short and make absolutely no sense when translated to English) by applying Finnish the same way Finns do.
