Regarding my experience, I have taught my native language to both teens and adults. My Bachelor’s Degree is in Languages and Literatures (English and Russian), and my Master’s Degree is in Modern Philology. Last year, I also obtained CEDIL certification, which certifies my competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language. I have studied languages since I was 13 years old, and now that I live in Australia, I use them daily at work and outside work to interact with locals and friends. I always loved studying languages, but I hated how language class made me feel: anxious, insecure, and afraid of being judged by teachers and classmates. In addition to these odd feelings, it seemed to me that, despite all the efforts, I never really improved in the learning process. But all these experiences made me understand how a student should feel in class: confident, relaxed, understood, listened to, and supported. You will find all of this in our lesson (+ with tons of laughter). In our classes, there will be no space for judgment: learning a language is hard, and the only way to truly master it is by making mistakes! Mistakes are an essential part of learning. Italian teacher with six years of experience My name is Veronica and I was born in Italy, where I currently live. I have a PhD in Linguistics and Psychology: language and how you can learn it are my passions! I taught for two years Italian to foreign students at my University. They had very different background so it was very challenging but also fulfilling! A grat opportunity, also for me, to learn a lot. It was a excellent challenge for me understanding what was the better method for each of them. For the past six years I have been teaching Italian to teenagers and adults online, helping them preparing school exam or certifications (also for the citizenship language test), or improving their conversation in view of a trip to Italy or a career change I think that everyone has a particular and specific way of learning, I would like to discuss with the students and find the better approach considering their goals and expectations. I usually focus on conversation but without neglecting a basis of grammar and some knowledge of Italian culture. I also like to include in my lessons examples of real use of language, such as newspapers articles, books, songs, according to the level of the students.

For me learning a foreign language is an amazing experience, not only for reaching fluency itself, but also because it let you immerge in the culture, getting out of your confort zone and expand your orizons.
