Accent Coach & Teacher since 2014 | + 10 000 lessons on italki | Communicate more mindfully! I have been teaching on italki since 2015. I specialise in accent reduction and in "spoken French". I also worked for the MimicMethod for a few years, where I was the Head of French Instruction and helped give specific pronunciation feedback to students. Later on, I also took lessons with a cinema accent coach and got acquainted with a more theatrical approach, which helped me be more versatile in my feedback. When I see one type of feedback doesn't work, I try another one. Each student reacts differently to different verbal cues, so I think it's important I can bring these different approaches to them, whenever needed :)

Hi! I was born in Portugal and have been living here all my life. I have a Bachelors Degree in Languages and Communication and a Postgraduate in Teaching Portuguese as a Second Language. As a teacher, it is my priority to make my students feel comfortable and not be afraid of making mistakes, so I'd like to think of my classes as a safe space to learn and to ask every single question, even the silly ones. The class structure and content must be discussed with the student. For that reason, I recommend doing a trial lesson (where we can get to know each other and talk about lesson plans and goals, assess current language level, etc.) before booking a package.

My goal as your teacher is to improve and hone your speaking skills! I have many topics of interest that we can talk about =) I'm easy to talk with, outspoken and a good listener. During our classes, I'll pay attention to your issues/needs/difficulties and I'll take notes on them to be discussed during each class. I love talking, but I love grammar as well. So, if you want, we can follow a textbook and have structured lessons. But always using everything that we learned in spontaneous conversations and in role-playing games! Learning a new language can be fun =) At the moment teaching isn't just about working, it's a hobby and a vocation as well, which I'm extremely obsessed with.
