Hello everyone! I am a 39 year old engineer who is passionate about water systems world wide, and experiencing new cultures. I am here on italki to gain the skills necessary to learn from people around the globe, and to hopefully share some of my knowledge as well. My great-grandfather was a polygot who spoke 13 languages fluently... my goal is to beat him before I die!     determining in this case is more like "choosing between". The repair process had to know normal DNA and mutant DNA and be able to know not only if the DNA is mutual, but how the repair should look. For example, you could have a DNA strand TTAAGGTTC. Let's say it is mutated to TTTAGGTTC. The repair process must (1) determine this second string is a "mutant" not "normal", and it must also know the third T should be repaired to an A. It must DETERMINE what the third base pair should be.

    It might be easier to reword the sentence slightly: "a major part of (the adduct) continuing to exist will be if the cell can or cannot repair the DNA." Determinant = event or thing that decides something persistence = continues to be for a long time

    次にサンフランシスコへ向かいました。
    そこではゴールデンゲートブリッジをレンタルサイクルにて渡りましたが
    思っていた以上に高低差があり大変苦労しました
