Most Japanese study English for more than ten years and so did I. Now, about twenty years have passed since I stopped studying English, I still can read simple English articles, but I can’t speak English fluently. When I stopped studying English, I didn’t think so, it is very important for me to understand something in English. Understanding things in English give me a lot of opportunities, friendships and fun! Why didn’t I find it at that time? From this year, I restarted studying English, though the speed of my studying is slow, it’s fun! I can communicate with many people through English. I think it is better, when children start studying English, they have to think about their vision at first. What kind of the vision is it? It’s the image that they use English and do something. What are your thoughts?

yeah, I totally agree with you. Having such a vision, of yourself using the language and how that will affect your opportunities in the future, is the best motivator in my opinion.
