Мы закончили ужинать в 7 часов. В субботу мы закончим читать этот текст. You can use the word "кончить" without a prefix as it goes in this exercise. It is a right and good Russian word, but it generally means 'to c*m'.

It's perfective - imperfective rule. But in general nobody use this verb here, actually people can laughing, if you say that.😉
