Karen has helped me improve so much throughout the last year working with her. She is an incredible conversationalist, her classes are always interesting, and i've seen so much progress with my own spanish since beginnging working with her. Highly highly recommended.

I've been practicing Spanish conversation with Karen for over a year. I look forward to our lesson every week. It does not feel like work; it feels like a treat that I give to myself. She chooses interesting articles for me to read and we discuss them. Because she is a former journalist she knows how to ask excellent questions to elicit responses and how to pivot when a line of questioning isn't working. She also has a very well organized system of recording my errors to review at the end of the lesson. I have had lessons with other teachers on iTalki but Karen is my "regular" teacher because the lessons are fun and she's helped me grow as a Spanish speaker.

Karen prepares thoughtful, tailored lessons with structured activities, something that sets her apart from other teachers. Her passion for journalism helps her craft interesting discussions. I have been learning a great deal about Colombia through her and my spoken Spanish is rapidly improving. Highly recommend!

Karen is an engaging and organized teacher who pulls from many different sources of media to keep conversations interesting. She has really helped me pinpoint and work on weakness in my grammar. She's great for advanced and beginner learners alike, I can't recommend her enough!

Karen provides articles or videos on current events prior to each lesson, and we spend time talking about the topic of the article. She asks questions and helps me express my thoughts in Spanish. At the end of class she goes over grammatical mistakes that I made and we correct them together. I really enjoy my lessons with Karen!
